Catherine Winifred Wagner Tschirhart, of Castroville, passed away on September 3, 2020 in Castroville at the age of 98 years. She was born February 20, 1922 in Toledo, Ohio, the youngest of two daughters born to Frank Wagner and Mabel Detzer Wagner.
Catherine grew up in Toledo, Ohio and graduated from Waite High School. Before retiring, she was a proof reader for many years for the Castroville News Bulletin.
On August 15, 1959, Catherine married Lee William Tschirhart. They were blessed with forty-four years of marriage at the time of his death in 2004.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Deborah Tschirhart of Rio Medina, Wayne and Debbie Walton of Whitehouse; daughter and son-in-law, Arlene and Mick Grady of Ft. Worth; daughter-in-law, Jean Walton of Houston; grandchildren, Sabrina Tschirhart, Samantha Tschirhart Merz (David), Matthew Tschirhart, Lisa Juarez, Mitzie Smith, Aimee Walton, Tanya Walton Rocha and Rana Walton Green; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mabel Wagner; her husband, Lee Tschirhart; her son, Glen Walton and grandsons, Barry Head and Donny Walton.
Public Visitation will be Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 10:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church in Castroville. Interment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville, Texas.
