November 18 in the ultra running championship around Lake Georgetown which is no small feat. Jason Dodson, of Devine, is looking forward to the 100K race which is an amazing 62 miles long. He trains by running around Devine.

Cactus Festival draws 6,500+

Having a blast….These kiddos are all smiles just as Eddie would have wanted them to be, gathering lots of sweets at the parade as the posthumous Eddie Hutzler escort goes by to start of the Devine Fall Cactus Festival and Parade this past Saturday. You can almost just see him waving in the background! Eddie loved Devine and Devine loved Eddie.

Devine hosted its 62nd annual parade and festival last weekend, called the 2023 Devine Cactus Festival, with an estimated 6,500 in attendance at the festival alone, plus many more on the parade route. It is hosted and directed yearly by the Devine Chamber of Commerce for the past 62 years…

Family uncovers Century old Time Capsule in Devine

Sealed for one hundred and one years inside a limestone brick was a time capsule in Devine. As the old St. Joseph Church in Devine was being demolished in 2020, there were few who remembered the time capsule, and where it was remained a mystery. It wasn’t until this past Friday, November 3, that one local family uncovered the surprise of a lifetime.
