Arabians beat Rockport Fulton; on to Area Playoffs

Game 1
Arabians headed to playoffs to face the Lady Pirates last week and as Coach Oropeza said “These girls like to raise my blood pressure by coming back to win games at the very last moment.” Indeed both games, Arabians raised that blood pressure. Arabian Softball beats Cornerstone Christian Warriors

Devine has not done well against Cornerstone Christian recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn’t let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Devine Arabians came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cornerstone Christian Warriors and snuck past 5-3. The win was familiar territory for Devine who now have four in a row. Warhorse baseball has suffered several close defeats throughout their District 29-4A schedule, and with only one game remaining as of press time Devine needed to win out and get some serious help from other squads if their goal of making the state playoffs were to materialize.
Devine lost a 5-2, 10-inning affair to Somerset last Friday. A win there would have given the Warhorses more hope to extend their season.
The Warhorses played at Pearsall Tuesday, April 23 and close out their portion of the 29-4A schedule at home against Floresville Friday, April 26.

It was the best of times; it was the worst of times. Devine baseball felt a sense of euphoria after annihilating Carrizo Springs 22-0 April 9, but the air came out of the sails April 12 against Pleasanton as they lost a tight contest 5-3.
Devine is 3-6 in league play with 29-4A action remaining at Warhorse Stadium against Somerset April 19, in Pearsall April 23, and back at home to close out the regular season versus Floresville April 26.

Whether it goes 3-and-a-half or if it goes the full 7, there isn’t anything quite like the first time as sophomore righthander Henry Ramirez tossed the first no-hitter of his young high school career as Devine smashed…
