Beverly was born on January 28, 1947 in Dallas, Texas. She married Billy Ricord and had three children and eventually moved back to Devine to be close to family. She worked several jobs and was going to night school while providing for her family. She met her soul mate Gus Roberts of 43 years, and they married and were best friends until the end. Beverly Enterprises hired her at the Devine nursing home as a nurse aide and she moved up the ladder quickly to become an activity director and business office manager. The company loved her enthusiasm and devotion to the elderly and told her they would pay for her schooling if she wanted to become an administrator. She jumped at the opportunity and became an administrator 43 years ago and worked until 6 months ago. Her administrator number is 3982 and now retired. She is known to be a legend in her field, and if you ever worked with her, you would know why. She loved her residents, staff and was fully devoted to the company she worked for. She precepted many administrators that were going to school for nursing home administration. She had to turn some down due to having a wait list to be trained under her leadership. She served on the THCA panel, which helped with regulations for the elderly. She served on many long- term care committees to include the senior Olympic committee which she was very involved in. She was recognized by the state with the exercise trail that won the Making a Difference Award that was a rehab driven trail. She was also awarded many superior rated surveys. She was a wonderful Christian leader that prayed every morning in her morning meetings and prayed with her staff and residents. She was very active in her church where she had worked nursery, taught children’s church and was over the church events. She was the best wife, momma, nanaw, sister, aunt, cousin and friend that anyone could have ever known. She will be truly missed, but we know that she is in the Kingdom of Heaven singing, and one day we will be with her again.
