Bertha Theresa Keller Bennett, passed away at her home in La Coste, Texas on December 25, 2021 at the age of 96. She was born December 11, 1925 in La Coste, one of six children born to Alfred Frank Keller, Sr. and Rosa Louisa Zinsmeyer Keller.
Bertha was a graduate of La Coste High School. In 1945, she married Fred W. Bennett, Jr. in Tucson, Arizona. They were blessed with fifty-two years of marriage and four daughters.
For twenty years, Bertha worked as the church secretary at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste, where she was also a parishioner and a member of the St. Ann’s Altar Society. She was a founding member of the La Coste Garden Club.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryll D. and Sylvan Biediger of La Coste, Denise J. and Martin Conricote of Lake Jackson, Texas, and Pamela S. and Richard E. Youngman of La Coste; grandsons,Kevin Biediger, Karl Lutz, Darin Biediger, Evan Youngman, and Trevor Youngman; great-grandchildren, Dakota Lutz, Hannah Lutz, and Austin Lutz.
Bertha was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred W. Bennett, Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca “Becky” and Albert Lutz; brothers and sister-in-law, Alvin Keller, and Alfred L., Jr.and Marcella Keller; sisters and brothers-in-law, Velma and Ivan G. “Buster” Harvey, Bernice and Ervin “Chico” Hitzfelder, and Cornelia “Connie” and Bernard Jungman.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 followed by the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery in La Coste, Texas.
Memorials may be made in Bertha’s memory to the La Coste Garden Club, Our Lady of Grace St. Ann’s Altar Society or the charity of your choice.
