You can look down the street and see the beautiful United States flags flying. We are getting ready to celebrate on July 4th, Independence Day and our 247th birthday. This country has been blessed with so many freedoms. We have and are enjoying the freedoms that others fought and died for. We have the freedom to celebrate the holiday in the way we choose. There may be parades, picnics, ball games, fireworks, family and friends getting together. Jo Ann Tate Null
July 16, 1933 — May 27, 2024, Lytle, Texas
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our mom, Jo Ann Null, of Lytle, Tx. Mom was preceded in death by her parents, John Lester “Leck” Tate and Doris Blanke Tate, and her husband, Jimmy Null. She leaves behind many who loved her, including her daughters, Debra McCartney (husband Ron McCartney) and Dr. Cynthia Gans; and her sons Carl Null, Jay Null and Mark Null (wife Barbara Null). She had 7 grandkids and 13 great grandkids. Her house was always full and loud. She also left behind who knows how many dogs, cats, chickens and various other animals. Mom and her family have roots to Lytle that go as far back as the 1800’s. Two members of mom’s family fought in the Battle of the Alamo.

She was born in San Antonio, TX on May 5, 1952.
Rhonda was raised in Corpus Christi, TX where she graduated from Mary Carroll High School. She was an Aqua Angel, a Tigerette, and a church pianist for several years.

Alex Hernandez, Jr. 84, Devine, Texas was born May 15, 1940 died on June 26, 2024 at the age of 84 years at home.
Preceded in death by parents: Guadalupe San Miguel Hernandez and Alex Hernandez of St. Hedwig, TX.
Survived by wife Karen Willene Grotfeldt Hernandez of Devine, TX. Sister: Gloria (Gustalvo) Soto of Bellflower, CA; Brother: Hector Jarmillo of Westminster, CA.

Joyce Lee Dye, of Devine, TX went to our Lord, on Friday, June 28, 2024, at the age of 89. Joyce was born on January 29, 1935, to Newton Lee and Ella A. Curtis Lee. 06/25-Animal Control – Officer on duty responded to a call received involving two large dogs who had gotten loose and attacked a neighbor’s feral cat. Upon arrival at the location contact was made with the dog’s owner who advised the Officer that the larger dog had broken a window and got out when they were not home. The dog owner agreed to keep the dogs contained as she tries to get the window repaired.
Meet Orion
Orion is a 5-year-old who is an early bird, and will wake up by 6 AM every morning to start his day. He really likes attending school and interacting with his peers, as Orion loves learning, his favorite subject is reading/story time, especially when the topics are about cars and animals.
