Lytle took their second consecutive Legacy Bowl last Friday night on their home turf as they defeated rival Natalia 30-14. Natalia had an 8-game winning streak in the previous 14 “Legacy Bowl” matchups prior to the Pirates breaking through last season by a 23-14 score.

Kevin Duane Holcombe of Devine, Texas passed away on August 22, 2024. He was born in Luling, Texas on February 16, 1965 and is preceded in death by his father, Virgel Holcombe.

Born into the arms of Malina Lynn Keene and James Robert Keene, and forever loved by her big sister, Kinsley Rhae Keene. Though Hadley’s time with us was brief, her impact on our hearts is everlasting. She will always be our precious girl, and her memory will guide us through even the darkest moments. We love you, sweet Hadley James, and you will forever be a part of us.
Jesse Wayne Lang, of Devine, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024. Jesse was born on September 21, 1938, to Carl Lester Lang and Essie Anderson Lang.
Mandy Lee Davis Cross went to be with our Lord Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024.

lleyball team and John Paul IIs team worked hard for the win during four tough games. Natalia won the match overall by taking the last three games, 25-22, 25-18 and 25-18. They were edged out of the first game 21-25 but worked it out and took the last three for the overall win.
Natalia Lady Mustang Coach Tara Cortinas said, “They adjusted well. I’m incredibly proud of the girls for their hard work and perseverance. It’s what got us the win.”

The Devine Community lost a special friend and educator Mandy Davis Cross who was known for her leadership, friendship and love of her daughter, family, and Devine. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and always greeted you with a big smile and a hug if you needed it. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten as evident by the flood of memories and photos shared online by those who knew her, and especially those who worked with her.
Devine ISD sent out an email to staff and parents on Sunday evening September 8, 2024 informing the community of her passing, shocking all who knew her and her full of life personality.
