The Varsity Arabians traveled to Jourdanton last Tuesday, Feb. 28 to take on the Squaws, falling 15-5 thanks in part to sloppy play that saw Devine make seven errors.
Devine got on the board first in the top of the 2nd inning. Brooklyn Anderson was hit by a pitch, and consecutive two-out walks by Kendall Arche, Halle Hagdorn, and Julie Ortiz forced Anderson in for a short-lived 1-0 lead.
Jourdanton took a 6-1 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning, thanks to three consecutive singles, a triple, and three more singles, and never looked back.
Jaylyn Stewart and Brittany Jay hit back-to-back singles in the top of the 3rd inning to scratch back one run. The Arabians scored three more runs in the top of the 4th inning on a walk by Arche, a double by Ortiz, and singles by Taylor Carr and Stewart.
