Arabians lose lead late in loss to Pearsall

The Varsity Arabians couldn’t hold on to a late lead against the Pearsall Lady Mavericks, falling 4-3 on March 31, 2017.
Devine had managed just three hits and found themselves down 2-0 in the top of the 6th inning. Jenna Sadler started a two-out rally with a double to left field, and Brittany Jay followed with a double of her own to drive in Sadler for Devine’s first run of the game. Amanda Wilson then stepped up to the plate and bashed a two-run home run to straightaway center field to give the Arabians a 3-2 lead.
Pearsall had a comeback of their own in the cards in the 7th inning. The first batter of the inning singled, and after two outs, the Lady Mavs’ leadoff batter came to the plate and tripled to center field to tie the game. One pitch later, she scored on a passed ball to give Pearsall the 4-3 walk-off win.
Pearsall out-hit Devine 10 to six, and had one error to the Arabians’ two. Devine left five runners on base, while the Lady Mavs left four.
