Devine’s Arabian golf team competed in the Flying L/Bulldog Invitational last Wednesday in Bandera. The course proved quite a challenge for the Arabians as scores were somewhat lower than anticipated.
Kayla Busby led Devine shooting a 90. Preslee Quisenberry followed with a 115, Shelby Spivey shot a 119, and newcomer Sierra Pompa shot a 128 in her first tournament…ever.
The team struggled at times but had some quality shots along the way. I know Kayla wanted to shoot in the low 80’s but it just didn’t happen. She played well but had four or five holes that she would like to play over. Shelby’s long game was decent but had difficulty in her mid-game and missed a couple of close putts.
Preslee and Sierra are fresh out of basketball so it was a great practice and learning round for each of them.
