Arabians are district Co-Champs

The Arabians are once again on top with Somerset this year. They finish the regular season 16-6 overall and 5-1 in district. They played Somerset last night at Southwest High School to see who would take the number one seed. Their next playoff game will be set after last night’s game.
In their final game against Young Women’s Leadership Academy, the Arabians played their game from the beginning to the end. “The girls did a great job of finishing out district play with a big win over YWLA on Friday night! The team came out and shared the ball well in the first quarter; this really set the tone for the rest of the game. Defensively, we did a great job of pressuring the ball and forcing YWLA into tough shots and lots of turnovers. We were able to get some easy baskets through our defense. We did a great job on the boards all night as well. It was a good, solid effort to finish the regular season. This win secured a share of the district title! I was extremely proud of the girls and the effort that they have put forth to make this happen. In the end, through a really tough, interesting season these girls have done a good job of persevering. They have faced illnesses, injuries, a crazy schedule that included cancelled and rescheduled games, and many new protocols and other obstacles this season! Extremely proud they were able to win a share of the district title and earn a gold ball for the trophy case. I am excited as to what they might do in the playoffs,” remarked Coach Jim Sessions.
Against YMLA, the Arabians took the lead in and never looked back. They caused 35 turnovers, had 22 steals, 37 points off turnovers, and had 2 blocks. Coach’s Sessions team has become a powerhouse looking for a long playoff run.
