Arabians 4th, Horses 5th at Steve Goleman XC Invitational;Stotts, Dixon Top 10

The Arabians continued their great start to the 2023 season as they finished fourth at the 2nd Annual Steve Goleman Cross Country Invitational in Bandera Saturday morning. The Warhorses also had a strong showing, placing 5th.


Arabians
Rachel Stotts made the top 10 of 94 runners in the varsity girls division. Stotts was 9th with a time of 12:41, 0:07 behind the 8th place runner.
Aimee Carr was 11th with a time of 12:50 followed by Airyanna Rodriguez who was 23rd with a time of 13:35.
Claire Atkins placed 27th at 13:46 and Camila Sierra was 31st at 14:14 to round out the top five finishers for the Arabians. Dani Gutierrez (32nd-14:27) and Angelina Garcia (35th-14:34) also competed.
Warhorses
Donovan Dixon continues to have a strong showing early in the season for the Warhorses. Dixon made the top 10 at number 8 in Bandera as he ran his 5K in 17:48. He was a little over one second behind the 7th place finisher and a little over one second ahead of 9th place.
There were 93 runners in this race.
Jaiden Alvarez was next for Devine with a time of 18:30. Alvarez placed 15th overall. Shawn Lowe came in 34th place at 20:21, Jake Riou 38th at 20:54, and Rowdy Esparza 41st at 21:15 to round out the scoring for the top five Warhorse runners.
Jonathan Moralez (45th-21:45) and Chester Darby (50th-22:11) also competed.
JV Arabians
The JV Arabians ran well, but had only four runners in the division so not enough to qualify for a team score.
Darilynn Garcia barely missed the top 10 as she placed 12th out of 48 runners. Garcia ran 15:41.
Jilliyn Guajardo was next at 15th place and a time of 15:49 followed by Lexi Perez who was 21st with a time of 16:35. Melia Hinojosa came in at 25th place with a time of 17:31.
