Arabians 2nd, Warhorses 3rd @ Devine XC Invitational

Devine Golf Club hosted the Devine Cross Country Invitational last Wednesday morning. The Arabians placed second as a team behind champion Pleasanton while the Warhorses placed third behind champion Hondo and runner up Pleasanton.
Arabians
Airyanna Rodriguez was the Arabians top runner finishing sixth of 56 overall runners. Rodriguez ran a 13:57, two seconds behind fifth place Annisa Ojeda of Carrizo Springs.
Kristina Moralez ran 14:03 which placed her 8th and teammate Charlee Rangel was next at 9th running 14:09.
Yessika Garza and Trinity Black were also in the top 20. Garza placed 15th at 14:52 while Black came in 18th with a 15:04.
Jilliyn Guajardo (22nd-15:30), Kendall Marek (26th-15:55), and Rebecca Mares (41st-16:53) also competed for the second place Arabians.
Angelina Garcia ran in the JV girl division and finished 7th with an 18:19 time.
Warhorses
Isaih Morin continues his strong season by placing third out of 42 total competitors. Morn ran an 18:32 finishing behind individual champion Anthony Sandoval of Hondo and Noah Gilkey of Natalia. There is no shame in coming in third behind those two runners as Sandoval and Gilkey both ran in the state meet a year ago.
Kris Aguirre came in 10th with a 19:55 while Thomas TJ Mendoza was next at 16th awith a 20:36 effort.
Marcus Espinosa was the lone other top 20 finisher coming in at twenty running 20:38. Chris Ortiz was 21st at 21:02 and teammate Jesse House soon followed at 23rd with a 21:20.
Freshman Taylor Hurst continues to improve as he ran 22:43 to come in at number twenty-nine. Stephen Culver placed 34th at 23:11.
Seth DeLeon was the lone Warhorse JV runner. DeLeon came in 11th at 24:18.

1st Hondo 51, 2nd Pleasanton 54, 3rd Devine 60, 4th Natalia 71, 5th Somerset 109.
Girl team rankings
1st Pleasanton 20, 2nd Devine 51, 3rd Carrizo Springs 77, 4th Hondo 111, 5th Somerset 135, 6th Leakey 148.
