The Devine Arabians dusted the competition last Thursday, March 30th by winning the Championship of Somerset’s Pre-District Invitational by more than 50 points. Devine scored 196 points, clobbering 2nd place finisher Floresville who had 145. Third place Pearsall was a distant 3rd with 91 points.
“Many had personal bests and gained more confidence going into the district meet,” said Head Track Coordinator Lynn Cozby. “We are looking forward to doing our best.”
Leading in individual point totals for the Arabians was Caroline Anderson with 21 followed by Mari Murillo’s 20. Next was Harlie Walker with 18 and Sydney Rendon with 16 points.
The JV Arabians finished in 2nd place with 108 points, 16 points behind champion Floresville’s 124 points. Somerset was 3rd with 85 points.
