Arabian softball to face Highlands in season opener at home

The Arabians will finish up scrimmages this week and are ready for their season opener at home on Tuesday, February 18th vs. Highlands HS out of San Antonio.
“With a few scrimmages under our belts, we are making adjustments and finding what works for us. Right now a bright spot we are seeing is from our pitching staff. Sr. Isabella Gutierrez and Jr. Mackenzie McClellan are doing a great job locating pitches and challenging batters,” said Coach Juan Gonzalez.
“When these two get ahead in the count they are very successful, and our defense plays better behind them. Floresville scrimmage was a good one for us at the plate. The girls found a grove and were able to drive the ball and score runners on the bases. Jr. Mackenzie McClellan is seeing the ball well with two home runs in the last three scrimmages.”
The Arabians will compete in a couple of tournaments this month and then district starts March 17th against Hondo.
