The Reverend Albert Wayne Bowers, 78, a retired Episcopal priest born in Macon, GA, son of the late Louie Mack Bowers and Mattie Mae Poole, died Friday, August 21, 2020. Reverend Bowers was a graduate of General Theological Seminary in New York City. Father Wayne was Pastor at parishes in New Jersey, New York, Texas and missions in Africa, Central and South America. Father’s immense dedication and contributions with youth groups, inmates, and people in need will be missed by many. He was personally responsible for shaping and changing the lives of the many he interacted with. His Godly voice while preaching the Lord’s word, will forever be in the minds of those who remember him.
Reverend Bowers is survived by his children in Christ, Julián and Tania; Granddaughters, Yazmine and Katherine and great-grandchildren, Anya, Liam, Luna and Aracely.
Due to current circumstances, a virtual memorial service will be held at a soon to be announced date and time. A public service will be held in New York at a later date.
