Academic All-State for golfers Cardenas, Stein, and Diaz

Jamie Stein, Beau Cardenas, and Tayler Diaz were named to the Academic All-State golf team.

Seniors Beau Cardenas, Jamie Stein, and Tayler Diaz were recently selected for the Academic All-State Golf Team by the Texas Association of High School Coaches Association. Graduating seniors are selected based on overall GPA through their first seven semesters of high school, class rank, and ACT/SAT scores.
Beau is a 4-year member of the Warhorse golf team who won District 29-4A this season to advance to Regional where the team finished Runner Up. On May 22nd and 23rd, Beau competed at the State Golf Tournament at Apple Rock Golf Course at Horseshoe Bay to close out his successful high school athletic career.
Jamie is a 2-year letterman on the Arabian Golf Team. She helped the Arabians capture 2nd place in District 29-4A which landed the team a spot at Regionals in Corpus Christi back in April.
Tayler is also a 2-year letterman who came back from an ACL injury which occurred during basketball season. She played in two tournaments before helping the Arabians advance to the Regional Tournament.
Devine coaches stress that the kids in the school system are student/athletes and not athlete/students. Cardenas, Stein, and Diaz being recognized for their academics over the course of nearly four years in high school put a stamp on the time and diligence they put in to being the best they could in the classroom while also participating and representing DHS on the golf course.
