Gary C. Martinez, of La Coste, passed away in San Antonio on September 5, 2019 at the age of 57 years. He was born November 29, 1961 in Castroville, the son of Pedro “Pete” Martinez, Jr. and Juanita Castro Martinez.
Gary grew up in La Coste and was a 1981 graduate of Medina Valley High School. He was a carpenter in home construction.
Survivors include his father, Pedro “Pete” Martinez, Jr. of San Antonio; four brothers and one sister, Jimmy Martinez (Diana Lindsay) of Lytle, Rosemary Martinez (Chris Alcala) of Natalia, Pedro “Pete” Martinez III (Alma) of San Antonio, Robert Martinez (Leslie) of Castroville and Joseph Martinez (Shanon) of Austin; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
Garywas preceded in death by his mother.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 10th, starting at 5:00 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with the Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be Wednesday, September 11th at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Services will conclude at the church. Interment will follow at a later date at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery.
