8th Grade Lady Mustangs battle D’Hanis

The 8th Grade Lady Mustangs’ A team fell on Monday to D’Hanis in two sets, 20-25 and 15-25. “Tonight our girls lost to a talented D’Hanis team. They had some strong servers that our girls seemed to struggle against. We have to a better job of picking ourselves up when we are down. This non-district match up gave us the opportunity to find areas that we need to work on. Back to work tomorrow morning!” stated Coach Jasmine Vasquez.
Trista Boucher was the top server. They will play in Dilley October 14th.
B Team
The 8th Grade Lady Mustangs’ B team faced D’Hanis on October 7th and after losing their first set 23-25, they continued to fight and won the second set 25-23. D’Hanis never gave up and both teams fought hard they whole game. Kiara Garcia was the top server for Natalia.
“We came up short our first set but made a furious come back in a close second set. Our girls did a better job of communicating and working together. We’re excited of the progress we’ve made thus far,” stated Coach Jasmine Vasquez.
The Lady Mustangs will play in Dilley next Monday. They are currently 1-2-1 overall and 0-2 in district.
