The Middle School Colts played their second game of the season last Thursday at Warhorse Stadium as the Uvalde Coyotes made the hour and some change trip to Devine.

Behind two rushing touchdowns from Kaleb Oropeza and a defense that forced the Coyote quarterback into a couple of interceptions, the Maroon Colts won 16-0.
Oropeza had touchdown runs of 32 and 2 yards and also chipped in one of the two Colt interceptions. Brody Lane picked the other ill-fated Uvalde pass attempt.
“The defense held strong, and we got multiple tackles from Marcus Gomez and the rest of the crew,” said Coach Lupe Gonzales.
A final score was not reported but according to Coach Gonzales the “Colts played well beating Uvalde with scoring contributions coming from Jacob Casias on a 24-yard run and Eugene Sanchez on a 90-yard interception return for a touchdown.”

Devine 8th grade Colt #20 Jaykob Reynolds runs with the ball.
