When Lytle has a road game, they bring the support with them. December 2nd both teams earned their second win of the season. The Lytle Pirates were ready to take on the Cowboys, who they had just faced in the football district title.
When the 7th Grade B team “took the floor first and played like their shirts were on fire coming away with a 19-4 victory. PJ Guillen led the way with 9 points while Kash Friesenhaun contributed with 7 and Adrian Muraira hit a key 3 pointer to seal the deal.” Said Coach Brian Clark.
The 7th Grade A team came out strong and were “looking for revenge, but your boys played hard, with grit, and never quit! Though Seth Pierce couldn’t hit water from a boat from the free throw line, he took care of business elsewhere. Peirce led all scorers with 18 points while Mason Hill played superb defense and pitched in with 4 points on top of his defensive onslaught Sebastian Garcia had 6 points and Jayden Motes got his first two points of the season. The boys finished with a 42-33 victory,” said the proud Coach Clark.
With both teams now 2-0, the teams will head to Poth on Monday for their first basketball battle of the Pirates.
