7th grade Gold Fillys beat Carrizo Springs

In their final game of the season, the 7th Grade Gold Fillys beat Carrizo Springs 25-7 and 25-10. Coach Shana Beaty made sure every player on the bench got into the game to play. “This group of girls did a great job for their last game. We had a really good serving game which always helps at this level. I feel like everyone contributed to the game as much as they could, considering the level of competition. Great season girls! Angelina Solis had 5 aces, Iris Stricker 4, Mia Hernandez 3, Bailey Ornelas 3, Kylie DuBose 2, and Riley Ramirez 1 ace. Reese Duncan, Pamela Cardona, Makayla Rivera and Ornelas each had 1 hit. Hernandez had 2 offensive serves received, Solis 2, Hilary Barnett 1, Ornelas 1, Sadie Quesada 1 and Maya Hernandez 1 offensive serve received. Barnett had 2 digs, Brynlea Byrd 1, Quesada 1, Hernandez 1 dig.
The Gold Fillys have ended their season 7-3-3 overall and 7-2-2 in district. Up next for the young athletes is basketball with their first game in Poteet on November 5th.
