Charlie West and his daughter Stacy West went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Charlie was 76 years old, and he was born in Pandora, TX on July 8, 1945, to Franklin West, and Nancy Ida Brown. Charlie served in the Army for 6 years. He was retired from Kelly Field.
Charlie was married to Doris West for 56 years, and they were the owners of Charlie’s Icehouse in Devine for 20 years. Charlie enjoyed family and friends with his granddaughter Abigail being his biggest blessing. He spent his free time watching the Dallas Cowboys, going to estate sales, and enjoyed driving around Devine.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Odell, Olan, Orbie, Buddy, and Gary West; and sister Opal Adams. Charlie is survived by his wife, Doris West; grandchild, Abigail; son-in-law, Robert Madrigal; brothers, Ray West, and wife Verleen, Owen West and wife Bettie; sisters, Joyce Hartgrove; also, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022 from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Hurley Funeral Home – Devine, 303 W. College Ave, Devine, Texas 78016. A Prayer Service will be held at 5:00 in the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 11:00 am at Evergreen Cemetery, Devine, Texas.
A reception will immediately follow the Graveside Service at the VFW Post #3966 Hall – Devine, Texas.
