Where in the Biblewill I find…?

Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.”
I pray that you are doing well so far this week. As always, I encourage you to get into the word of God on a daily basis. Have you read your Bible today? If not why not? It only takes a few minutes to read a whole chapter. In Luke 4:4 Jesus said, “…it is written, that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.” Let us also continue to pray for our nation’s defenders and our first responders. And please pray for rain! Our question for the week is; “Where in the Bible will I find gods and earrings hidden under an oak?”

Sometimes people hide things so that no one else can find them. Sometimes they hide them so good that even they can’t find them. We’ve all heard stories of lost hidden treasures. Sometimes in the Bible the word hid is used in the same way that we use the word “bury” or cover up. That is the case in the verse for today, God calls Jacob to go down to Bethel and dwell there so Jacob tells his family to pack up for the move and to put away their strange gods. Genesis 35:4 says, “And they gave Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.” Think about it!
