As basketball returns to Sessions Court inside the DSAC, the Devine Warhorses are preparing for another winter of competition, growth, and pursuit of a District 27-4A championship. With an ambitious pre-district schedule and three challenging tournaments on the docket, Devine aims to use November and December to sharpen their identity and develop a battle-tested mindset before opening district on January 2 in Somerset.
As usual the bar is set high under Head Coach Jacob Alegria, and expectations within the program remain focused which is to compete for a district championship then make noise in the State Playoffs.
Early Games Matter
Pre-district competition, especially with tournaments, is about so much more than just wins and losses. It is where rotations are set, roles are defined, and team chemistry forms. Playing on the road, handling tournament back-to-backs, and facing programs with different styles all serve one purpose which is to prepare this group to operate as a confident unit when the stakes increase when the district race heats up.
