Travis Wayne Burris

Travis Wayne Burris of Hot Springs, passed away at the CHI Hospital on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.He was born February 11, 1945 at Arkadelphia to Earnest and Grace Burris, who preceded him in death, also an infant son, a brother Howard Burris and a sister Barbara Hamby.Travis is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sue Southerland Burris of Hot Springs; daughter Angie Burris of San Antonio, Texas and her children, Ianna Martinez and Isaiah Martinez; two sisters, Patricia Simpson and Carolyn Wolf and Brother-in-Law Norman Hamby.Travis was a 1963 graduate of Bismarck High School and a 1974 graduate of Henderson State College and Southwest Texas Junior College for Business Data Processing. He was a member of the Arkansas Army National Guard from 1966 to 1972 and did his training at Fort Gordon, Georgia. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and the Silver Sneakers exercise class while living in Lytle, Texas.Travis held many jobs from Quality Assurance Manager to Plant Manager while living in the states of South Carolina, Indiana, Illinois, Mississippi, and Texas.The family appreciates the wonderful care provided by Schnitzler Cardiovascular Consultants of San Antonio, Texas, the caregivers of A Place at Home and nurses and staff at CHI Hospital.Pallbearers will be: Tony Hamby, Shannon Hamby, Norman Hamby, Mike Burris, Allen Bollen, Ray Bollen, and Dakota Brawley.Visitation will be on 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 8th at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home with a celebration of Travis’ life to follow at 11 AM at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Cansler officiating.Burial will be at Prairie Bayou Cemetery in New DeRoche.
