Mrs. Frances Prouty of Devine, Texas, has gone to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 92 years old.
Frances loved being in her garden, was a beautiful seamstress, and was strong in her faith. She could often be found reading the Rosary at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Devine, Texas, and loved being a Guadalupana. Frances was a beloved part of her family and community. Her sweet spirit will be missed by those that knew and loved her.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Monico and Isabella Mata; loving husband, Manuel Prouty Jr.; and her sisters Ambrosia, Maria, and Chole.
She is survived by her sons; Henry (Maggie), Alex (Theresa), Manuel (Mari), daughter; Esther Prouty; and her sister; Gomezinda Mata. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren.
A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, from 5:00pm – 9:00pm with a Rosary recited at 7:00pm in Primrose Funeral Chapel in Devine, Texas. A Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 10:00am in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Devine, Texas. Interment will follow at 1:30pm in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.
