A thirsty homecoming crowd at Walter Joyce Stadium did not have to wait long to get it quenched as Lytle burst out to a 35-0 halftime lead before sailing to the 48-0 dismantling of the visiting Pearsall Mavericks.
Quarterback Toby Davila threw for 203 yards and three touchdowns while completing an amazing 14 of 15 attempts. He also ran for two more while Chase Guevara hauled in two of those Davila scoring-daggers and returned an interception 54 yards for another.
Guevara snagged 9 receptions for 119 yards
Weston Jackson’s 18-yard run in the second quarter gave Lytle a comfortable 21-0 lead at the time and Angel Delarosa added the remaining score on his 54-yard reception in the third quarter.
Pirate placekicker Noah Smoot converted six of seven point after attempts.
After a couple of nail-biting victories over Bandera and Carrizo Springs, Lytle faced the opposite side of those emotions as Head Coach Mike Trevino and his troops put this one to rest rather early for their jam-packed Homecoming crowd.
