Local Track Team Shines Bright:

A Triumph at the South Texas AAU Regional Qualifier (Region 19)

In a display of sheer athleticism and determination, the Tri-County track team displayed excellence efforts at the highly competitive AAU Region 19 meet held this past weekend at D.W Rutledge Stadium. Amidst stiff competition from clubs across the region, the team showcased exceptional skill in securing multiple Junior Olympic berths for the first time in club history. Each athlete finished in the top 5 to qualify for Junior Olympics.


Among the notable performances were from AAU Junior Olympic qualifiers Jacob Cantu of Lytle, Laleina Reveira of Lytle, Shawn Lowe from Devine, and Donovan “Devo’’ Dixon of Devine. Such accomplishments not only reflect the talent of the individuals but also underscore the unity and spirit that define the Tri-County track team.
As they bask in the glory of this triumph, the team remains focused on their upcoming challenges, aiming to carry forward the momentum into the AAU Junior Olympics on July 27-August 3, 2024 in North Carolina. The meet’s venue will be at A&T University Greensboro, NC. Their success serves as an inspiration to aspiring athletes throughout the community, reinforcing the values of perseverance, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
