8th Colts win 29-4A District Championship!

The 8th grade Colts track and field team won the District Championship for 29-4A on April 2 as they scored 164 points against the remaining four teams. Bandera placed runner-up with 140 points.
The Colts won 8 gold medals in all led by three-time winner Tatum Hebert (110m Hurdles, 300m Hurdles, 4x200m) and two-time winners Sean Thompson (200m Dash, 4x200m) and Brandon Fancher (High Jump, 4x200m).
Gionni Perez was the second leg of the winning 4x200m Relay foursome.
Silver medal winners included Herbert, Thompson, Fancher, Ronnie Ortiz, Cade Gould, and three-time winner Rafael Rodriguez.
Josiah Pena won the team’s only bronze medal.

Arabians split week against Somerset and Pearsall

The Devine Arabians dropped their game against Somerset, 1-4 in a tough loss that saw the softball squad fight until the last inning. There was a bevy of talent in San Marcos last Friday, March 27 as the Arabian track and field team competed at the Charles Austin Classic at Bobcat Stadium. Devine scored only 5 points but was able to compete against some of the best talent from around the state as 25 teams were in competition.
Rylie Wells scored 2 points in 100m Hurdles, Margarita Vizcarra scored 2 points in Discus, and Kylie Monreal scored 1 point in 300m Hurdles.

Devine track and field had quite the day in and around Warhorse Stadium last Wednesday as they claimed yet another team championship by scoring 207 points to top runners-up Lytle who posted 110 points.
Devine High School record breaking performances by the 4x100m Relay team of Enoch Hall, Rowdy Esparza, Esai Sanchez, Ryan Weinkam (42.725), pole vaulter Tanner Davis (15’0), and long jumper Esparza (23’6.75”) highlighted a terrific day overall for Head Coach Lon Cozby, his assistants, and the rest of the Warhorse team.

Texas HS Football selects Warhorse TE Tyler Hinnant to All-Texas Team

Through Texas High School Football fan vote, Warhorse senior football player Tyler Hinnant was selected to the Class 4A All-Texas Team at Tight End. The May 2026 graduate is booked at tight end by Luke Nelson of Bridge City.
In addition to Hinnant and Nelson, others voted in offensively were quarterbacks Hudson Hoffman of Bridge City, Lincoln Madrid of Greenwood, running backs Evan Moreno of Robinson and Izaiah Rios of Lake View, offensive linemen Carson Carter of Carthage, Jeremiah Jones of Carthage, Jestin Burchett of Big Spring, Case Lyons of Sealy, Ryder Baldwin of Stephenville, and wide receivers Abrahman Munguia of Bridge City. The Warhorse baseball team had a three-game winning streak in District 27-4A after defeating Carrizo Springs, Pleasanton, and Bandera prior to their March 24 tilt in Somerset. Devine had won four in a row overall after claiming a non-district win in Jourdanton on Saturday, March 21.

Devine disposed of the Eagles rather easily at Warhorse Field on March 17, claiming a 7-3 win after getting out to a 4-0 lead after two complete innings.
Pitchers Alejandro Ramirez and Rudy Costilla combined to limit Pleasanton to only 3 hits, 3 earned runs, and struck out 7 while walking 5.
