Rosemary Dingman

Rosemary Dingman, age 70 of Devine, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. She was born August 11, 1951, to parents, Roy Haskell Ferguson, Jr., and Mildred Obena Layton Ferguson, in Gastonia, North Carolina.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister-in-law, Kelly Ferguson; Aunt, Dorothy Nichols; Nephews, Jason Starnes and Trent Lovelace.
Rosemary is survived by her husband of 43 years, Lester G. Dingman; children, Garrett Dingman and wife, Samantha, Donald Land, Jr. and wife, Lindsey; Heather Dingman, Matthew Dingman and wife, Kelly, Justin Dingman and wife, Crystal; daughter-in-law, Katresa Ray; Grandchildren, Amber, Blake, Austin, Nathan, Austyn, Justice, Nick, Dayton, Trenton, Jasmine, Alyssa, Evan, Madilyn, Gracelyn; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn and husband, Steve Lovelace; brother, Roy Ferguson III; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Services were held Monday, May 9, 2022, with a fellowship at 1:00 P.M. and Celebration of Life starting at 2:00 P.M. at the Devine Christian Church, 1479 CR 5710, Devine, Texas 78016, (830) 665-9070. Sarah Amber Haass

Sarah Amber Haass of San Antonio, Texas, was called home Thursday, May 5, 2022 at the age of 35.
She will be missed by her survivors, parents Tim and Melba Haass of Devine, brother Tim Haass of Moore, Monica Lascano, and niece Bailee Mae Haass of Moore. The world lost a sweet soul who will be missed by many family members and friends.
After graduating from Devine High school, Sarah worked several years for Hondo and San Antonio Police Departments, and was currently employed by Kahlig Auto Group, as Human Resources Coordinator. Sarah was a dedicated employee working full time while also earning her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M San Antonio. She was also completing her master’s degree from West Texas A&M University.
Sarah had signed up to be an organ donor in 2011. She continues to make an impact on this earth with at least three positive matches from her donation.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 11:00AM at the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel in Devine. Services will conclude at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Texas Organ Sharing Alliance.

Antonio Solis Pina left our world, peacefully, on May 2, 2022, at the age of 68.
Antonio is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio Pina Peres and Maria Luisa Solis Hernandes and sister, Emilia Pina Solis.
Antonio is survived by his wife, Rosalinda Pina; son, Antonio Pina, Jr. (Adriana); daughters, Dora Foley (Floyd) and Luzelva Sanchez; brothers, Gerardo, Joel, Alfredo and Rogelio Pina Solis; sisters, Maria Teresa, Maria Victoria and Elsa Maria Luisa Pina Solis; grandchildren, Genevieve, Audrey, Zaine, Daniela, Adrian and Gavin.

Yolanda Rodriguez, age 61 of Devine, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, May 1, 2022. She was born on March 22, 1961, to parents, Venancio and Maria Elena Ferdin in San Antonio, Texas.
Yolanda is preceded in death by her father, Venancio Ferdin; husband, Jaime Rodriguez; brother and sister, Robert Ferdin and Silvia Ferdin.
She is survived by her mother, Maria Elena Savala (Jimmy Savala); husband, Jose Luis Jimenez; sons, Jaime Rodriguez (Stacy Guzman), Michael Rodriguez (Veronica Rodriguez), Eric Rodriguez (Cecily Guerrero), Jeffrey Rodriguez (Makayla Ramirez), Lulu Rodriguez, and Joey Miranda; daughter, Alexus Jimenez; brother, Venancio Ferdin, Jr., sisters, Linda Ferdin and Anna Ferdin; grandchildren, Xsavior Martinez, Yaya Rodriguez, Mikey Rodriguez, Ian Rodriguez, Lilly Rodriguez, Aayden Rodriguez, Liam Rodriguez, Asa Rodriguez, Georgie Manzanares, Myla Rodriguez, Niko Rodriguez; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and faithful companion Shyler.

Thomas “Tomas” Garcia Gonzales

Thomas “Tomas” Garcia Gonzales, 75, passed April 27, 2022, in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born on March 7, 1947 in Natalia, Texas to his parents, Ambrosio and Jesusa (Garcia) Gonzales. He is also preceded by son, Thomas Gonzales Jr.; granddaughter, Amanda Gonzales; and siblings, Trenida, Maria Ana, Jesus, Jeronimo, Natividad, Pedro, Policarpio, Felesita, Isac, Jacinta, Rosita, and Jeronima.
He is survived by his son, Michael Castro Gonzales and spouse Laureen of Natalia, TX; son, Mark Gonzales and spouse Teresa of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter, Jessica Gonzales and spouse Roger of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Vanessa Gonzales and spouse Dakotah of Oklahoma City, OK; sister, Blasita Garcia of Plainview, TX; sister Bentura Gaspar and spouse Pedro of Florida; sister-in-law, Eustolia Gonzales of Lockney, TX; former spouse, Leonor McLing of Idaho Falls, ID; and former spouse, Mary Gonzales of Oklahoma City, OK; along with 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a devoted Dad, Grandpa, and “Papa”. He will forever be remembered as a loving and supportive father and his kind acts will continue to inspire us. He recently celebrated his 75th birthday with family and friends in March. Thomas began federal civil service in the 70’s at Kelly Air Force Base, TX, and in 1976 he transferred to Tinker Air Force Base, OK. He served as an Aviation Sheet Metal Mechanic for over 40 years before retiring in 2014.
A Rosary and Visitation was held on April 29, 2022 at the chapel of Moore Funeral Home in Moore, OK. A Graveside Liturgy of the Word was also held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City, OK, followed by a celebration of life with family and friends in his honor.

Calvin Kenneth “Pete” Hardt

Calvin Kenneth “Pete” Hardt, 96, of Port Lavaca died Tuesday, April 19, 2022. He was born Oct 26, 1925 in Yancey, Texas to Anton John and Laura Josephine Rose (Frick) Hardt.

A retired rancher, Pete called Port Lavaca home for the last 35 years, though he frequently made visits to his Yancey ranch. He enjoyed farm and ranch work, horseback riding and hunting. He farmed in Medina and Frio counties for many years, and took big game hunting trips on horseback into his late 80s.

Calvin married Nancy Jane Harper from Devine on Aug 25, 1948. He farmed and ranched while Jane ran a flower shop in Devine. After a visit to Africa to see their daughter in the Peace Corp, they decided they wanted to see more of the country. From 1980 – 1981 he and Jane lived in Tanzania, Africa, near Iringa on the Dabaga Seed Farm as manager of seed production on a joint venture project between the U.S. government and the Tanzanian government. He also participated in many big game hunts while stationed there.

From 1981 – 1984 he took an appointment with Agricultural Cooperative Development, Inc. as an agricultural consultant in Egypt on the Small Farmer Production Project through the U.S. Agency for International Development. He took part in numerous farm aid and training programs in other countries including Bolivia and the Czech Republic.

 Calvin managed rental properties in Port Lavaca and held a real estate broker license. He and Jane continued to travel to over 30 other countries.

Survivors include his daughter Terry Lee (Hardt) Jacques of Alexandria, Va.; son Kenneth Harper Hardt (Tammy) of Port Lavaca; granddaughter Heather Powell and great-granddaughter Charlotte Powell of Tulsa, Ok.; granddaughters Brittany Garner Valencia and Taylor Garner Salinas of Port Lavaca; cousins Henry David Hardt of Waco and Annanelle Hardt of Tempe, AZ; nieces and nephews Tim Hardt, Tony Hardt and Brenda (Hardt) Groff of Hondo, Jim Koehler of Pflugerville, William Koehler of Batavia, IL, Robert Hardt of Collegeville, PA., Laura (Hardt) Abramson of Bala Cynwyd, PA. and Charles Hardt of Exton, PA.

He was preceded in death by his wife, and his siblings, Richard Wilburn Hardt, Lloyd Emmett Hardt and Ruth Caroline Hardt Koehler.

Graveside service was held Tuesday, April 26, at Oakwood Cemetery in Hondo.

Elsa Moore

Elsa Moore, age 70 of Moore, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 14, 2022. She was born on July 28, 1951, to parents, Eugenio and Anita (Duncan) Gonzales in San Antonio, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband John F. Moore; sisters, Estella Cruz, Maria Montalvo, Angie Ruiz, Lucia Perez; brother, Gilbert Gonzales.
Elsa is survived by her son, Oscar Gonzales and wife, Tandy Gonzales of Moore, Texas; grandsons, Garrette and Jake Gonzales; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Rosary will be recited on Friday, April 22, 2022, 7:00 P.M. St. Augustine Catholic Church of Moore, Texas with service concluding at the church.

Manuel G. Castaneda

May 26, 1932 ~ April 13, 2022

Manuel G. Castaneda, went to be with the Lord, on April 13, 2022, at the age of 89.
Manuel is preceded in death by his sons, Robert and Jimmy Castaneda.
Manuel is survived by his son, Rick Castaneda; daughters, Christina Castaneda, Nellie Castaneda and Yolanda Castaneda; multiple siblings; 13 grandchildren and multiple great-grandchildren.

Walter Baker McAllister

Walter Baker McAllister passed away on April 15, 2022 in Devine, Texas at the age of 90. He was born on July 10, 1931 in Jourdanton, Texas to James Walker and Letha McAllister.
Walter graduated from Devine High School in 1950 and in September of the same year, he joined the United States Marine Corps. On February 15, 1952, Walter married Alda Rose Ehlinger in Devine, Texas. He worked with Shell Oil Company until 1958. For the next twenty-three years he worked in steel construction, welding for Guido Construction and retiring in 1987 as a Superintendent with Stanley Structures. Walter loved playing and watching sports, as well as coaching various little league baseball teams and slow pitch softball teams. He enjoyed traveling with his family and never turned down a game of pitch.
Walter is preceded in death by daughter, Imogene Tschirhart and daughter-in-law, Joretta McAllister, brothers Bill and Clifton, sisters Sarah Darby and Dorothy Ward.
He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Alda Rose Ehlinger McAllister, daughters Denise Boehme (Glenford) and Theresa, sons Walter, Jr. (Donna) and Byron (Elaine), twelve grandchildren, and twenty-one great grandchildren. Walter is also survived by brothers George and Franklin and sister Linda Anderson.
