Robert “Bob’ Lous Hilliard

Bob was born June 2,1946, in Victoria, Texas. He left us on September 25, 2024. Bob was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time on the ICW and the Texas Gulf as well as lake fishing. Bob was a board member of the Sugar Land CCA Chapter. He started work at Bell & Howell in San Antonio as a service supervisor and then as a sales rep for Kodak. He retired as President of BH Imaging in 2014.
Bob leaves his wife of fifty-five years Barbara Shafer Hilliard, daughter Andrea Evans (Bryan), son Jeffrey Hilliard (Ashley), granddaughters Jessica, Abbey, Parker, and grandson Logan. Also, his sisters Esther Harrell and Phyllis Gregory of Devine, Texas, as well as a niece and nephews, who will all miss Uncle Bobby. Bob is preceded by his father Earnest Hilliard and mother Evelyn Wiemers Hilliard.
A Memorial Service for Robert (Bob) Louis Hilliard, age 78, of Sargent, Texas, will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Sargent. Pastor Eugene Davis will officiate.

Blanca Segovia Gonzales

Blanca Segovia Gonzales, aged 87, passed away on October 6, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas. Born on November 3, 1936, she lived a life marked by the love and joy she shared with her extensive family and numerous friends.
Blanca is survived by her brother, Gabriel Segovia; her daughter, Lucy Castillo; and her sons, Carlos Segovia, Julio Gonzales, Alejandro Gonzales, Gabriel Gonzales, Edwardo Gonzales, and Francisco Gonzales. Her legacy also includes 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense pride and happiness. She leaves behind many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Lucia Segovia, two sisters, and three brothers.
Blanca’s life was one of vibrant social connections and familial dedication. Her presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
The viewing will take place on Saturday Oct. 12. From 9-10 a.m (for family) at Castle Ridge Mortuary North 10901 W Loop 1604 N in San Antonio, TX 78254, and from 10-11 a.m. the public is welcome. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the same location.

The burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. at St. Josephs Cemetery in Devine.

Ernestina Molinar Hernandez

Ernestina Molinar Hernandez, of Devine, Texas, has passed away at the age of 92 surrounded by her loved ones.
Ernestina grew up on a ranch in Terlingua with her family, and was a fantastic story teller. She was the baby of her twelve siblings and was “spoiled” by her father. She was known to be the feistiest and most headstrong of all her siblings, and had an incredible memory until the end.
Family was the center point of her life, she was fully devoted to the care and comfort of her children and husband, and was an excellent grandmother.
Ernestina is preceded in death by her parents, Paz and Maria Molinar, her husband, Jesus Islas Hernandez, and was the last of her twelve siblings.
She is survived by her children; Armando Arispe, Belinda DelaCruz (Roland), Doris Figueroa (Miguel), Juan Jesus Hernandez, and Elaine Carrasco (Ralph). She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
A Viewing will be held in her honor at Primrose Funeral Services Chapel in Devine on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 5:00p.m. to 9:00p.m., Rosary to be recited at 7:00p.m. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 10:00a.m. in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

Pamela Kay Patteson

Pamela Kay Patteson, of Devine, Texas, passed away peacefully at the age of 73, surrounded by her loving family.
Pamela and her devoted husband of 56 years, Ronnie Patteson, built a beautiful life together in Devine, Texas, where they raised their two children. To anyone who met her, Pamela’s warmth, kindness, and generosity were immediately evident. She and Ronnie shared many adventures on their farm, where they raised show pigs, chickens, and tended to their plum and peach orchards. Not only was she a food service director, she was partners with Ron in their family construction business. Pamela’s home was always open to family, friends, and anyone in need of a welcoming place. She was known for her incredible cooking, with frequent requests for her famous carne guisada, enchiladas, potato salad, and banana pudding. And if you were really special to her she would provide you with your own big dish of potato salad to take home.

Jalyne Poore Chant

Jalyne Poore Chant, of Devine, passed away on Sept. 24, 2024, at the age of 79 years. She was born on April 29, 1945, in Refugio, Texas to James and Helen Poore. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Ivan Chant. Jalyne was known for her love of the Lord, her family, and her pets.
Ivan and Jalyne raised their four children here in Devine — Terri Menges (Sam), James Chant (Liz), Kim Stevens (Dirk), and Todd Chant (Kristy). They had 9 grandchildren — Natasha (Drew), Joshua (Melina), Wesley, Aaron, Kaitlyn, Rachel, Gwynn (Patrick), Allison and Wyatt. They also had 6 great-grandchildren — Colton, Charlotte, Calvin, Dawson, Adelynn, and Hallie plus another one on the way.
Jalyne also leaves behind her two sisters, Sherry Lewis and Elyse Allen (Ken), one brother Arlon Scott, her two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Wiemers (Duane) and Glenda Allen (Ken), and many friends and family.

Aubrey Ray Radicke

Aubrey Ray Radicke, of Devine, Texas entered eternal rest on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the age of 76. He was born on September 23, 1948, to parents Robert “Jack” Lee Radicke and Goldie Evelyn Wishert Radicke in Nixon, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife of 41 years, Janice A. Radicke; son Derrick Radicke; brother Bobby Radicke.
Ray is survived by his brothers Ronald, Royce, Paul Radicke; sister Marybeth Elder; sons Ray Radicke Jr. of Devine; Timothy Radicke and wife Christina of Devine; daughters Valorie Bierbower and husband Doug of Dallas; Amanda Traill and husband Dusty of Sante Fe, fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial Service was held on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Devine, Texas. Service will conclude at the Church.

Arusteo Ortiz

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Arusteo Ortiz.
He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Arusteo was man of immense humor and wisdom, and loved to share his stories. He had an intense love for his country, was always willing to help others, had a giving heart, and a warm smile.
Arusteo is preceded in death by his parents, Pantaleon and Catarina Ortiz; brothers, Urbano Ortiz, Leo Ortiz, and Ascencion Ortiz; sisters, Teresa Ortiz, and Francisca Ortiz. He leaves behind his wife, Janie Ortiz; daughter, Lisa Marie; son, Michael; brothers, Ray, and Daniel; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 from 10:00am-11:00am in the Funeral Chapel of Primrose Funeral Services of Devine, TX. Interment to follow in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.

James B. Harshman

James B. Harshman, of Lytle, TX, born December 17, 1966, passed away in the early hours of September 15, 2024 following a two and half year battle with ALS. He is survived by his wife, Rohani Harshman, daughter Eva Burley, her husband Rich Burley, his sons Adam and his wife Milandri Harshman, Johann Harshman and his fiancé Taylor Bineau and his grandchildren Easton and Chase Burley. He is preceded in death by his parents Patricia and Bill Harshman and his brother, Bryan Harshman. He was a citizen of the Chickasaw Nation from his grandmother’s side and retains extended families in Oklahoma and Singapore.
James was originally born in Ardmore, Oklahoma then attended Garden County High School in Lisco, Nebraska. After graduation he played football at the University of Wyoming. He later graduated from the University of Northeastern Oklahoma and later earned his MBA from Oklahoma City University.
James lived in many places throughout his life and in all these places made friends whom he cherished for life – Larry Allen from Wyoming, Mitch Daum from the University of Wyoming, Randall and Steve Jobman from Nebraska, his high school coaches Coach Leopold, Coach Sutton, Coach Klempke and Coach Hattendorf all of whom remained close to James throughout his life. His lifelong friends also included Ben Shelton from Sand Springs, Oklahoma, and Robert Flores from Lytle, TX. The depth and length of these friendships are truly remarkable and serve as a testament to James’ loyalty and the unique impact he had on those around him.

Adelina Olivares Billalobos

Adelina Olivares Billalobos, 98, was born in Devine, Texas on February 2, 1926, and entered heaven on September 18, 2024. She was a loving, precious mother and wife. Adelina was a lady of immense faith who believed in our Lord. She prayed for all of our family on a daily basis and believed that the prayers of a mother were the first ones heard by our Lord.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ramon Billalobos, her mother and father, Bernandino and San Juana Olivares, her beloved son Joe David Billalobos, grandsons Patrick Billalobos and Gilbert Billalobos, Jr., son-in-law Homer Chapa. She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Aurelia Navarro, Petra Costilla, and Susana Adame, and her brothers Simon Olivares, Juan Sanchez, Jose Maria Olivares, Jesus “Chuy” Olivares, and Santiago Olivares.
She is survived by her children Marta Rosenthal (John), Gloria Velasquez, Ramon Billalobos, Jr. (Connie), Mary Jane Flores (Julian), Gilbert Billalobos, Robert Billalobos, and Rebecca Chapa. Later in life, Adelina and Ramon helped raise their grandson Gilbert Hilburn, Jr.

Romelia Dehoyos Del Toro

Romelia Dehoyos Del Toro was born on October 2nd, 1943, in Crystal City, Texas, and passed away on September 14th, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas.
Romelia was the daughter of Santiago Dehoyos and Antonia Garcia however, due to unfortunate circumstances, she was raised by her Grandparents, Manuel Garcia and Amelia Garcia. She is one of only two children. She lived in Natalia, Texas.
She was an amazing woman, wife, mother, and mother figure to many.
She’s survived by her husband, Juan (Johnny) Del Toro Jr., her sons Gilbert (Gibby) Del Toro and Rene Del Toro, her daughters, Ida Fernandez, Mary Helen Bowman, Stella Garcia, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 28th, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. with doors open to the public starting at 9:00 A.M. at Primrose Funeral Services Chapel located at 14822 Main Street, Lytle, Texas, 78052. Services will conclude at the funeral home.
