Devine ISD Board approves raises; 11 teachers retire or resign


Initially, Devine ISD wasn’t sure if they would be filling all positions of teachers and staff who had retired or resigned this school year, but Superintendent Scott Sostarich and Finance Director Shannon were happy to announce at the board meeting on June 5 that they will be able to fill those positions.

5th grade recorder choir students perform at interactive orchestra concert

This year, students of the Devine Intermediate School 5thGrade Recorder Choir collaborated with the San Antonio Symphony in a music education program provided by Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute (WMI). Devine City Council votes to join Go Medina County

Each city that is part of Go Medina County has its own splash page on the GMC website, www.gomedinacounty.com. Pictured here is Hondo’s page, which features selling points such as proximity to San Antonio, acreage available for development, tax rates, and incentives.

After putting off a decision for months, the Devine City Council voted to join nonprofit economic development group Go Medina County in a Special meeting held last Tuesday, May 23.
