1:08 PM – 19400 Blk. S. Benton St. – The officer responded to a door forcibly entered, resulting in approx. $150 damage.

11/13-Suspicious Circumstances – While conducting a routine security check at the Love’s Distribution Center the Officer on duty noticed an open door. Since staff do not usually work on the weekends the Officer entered the area setting off the building alarm. Further investigation into this situation revealed electricians were working on site and they were able to deactivate the alarm. Dispatch was notified all was clear at the location.

10:20AM – Complainant on Hondo Ave called in reference to a Hispanic male in fitness center speaking Spanish and following a female out of store and on road while driving home.
Ventura sentenced to 8 years forhuman smuggling
37 year old Leonel Ventura of Laredo, Texas, was sentenced to 8 years in the Texas Department of Corrections for two counts of Human Smuggling on October 25th, 2023.

On Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at approximately 2020 hours, Hondo Police Department patrol officers were dispatched to 1300 Avenue D for a 911 hang up. Upon arrival, Fabian Hernandez, 35 years of age of Hondo, was found in the roadway suffering a gunshot wound.

12:16PM – Complainant advised someone was burning. Subject ID’s and was burning in dumpster. DVFD was paged out due to subject had no water.
15:18PM – Officer dispatched to Hondo Ave for minor accident.
16:14PM – Complainant on Malone Dr advised chunk of concrete in road. Roadway was cleared.

12:00 PM – 19700 Blk. Bruce St. – Officer responded to check on an infant.
8:09 PM – 19000 Blk. McDonald St. – Officers responded to a theft, resulting in the arrest of a 42 year old female for an active warrant out of Medina County for theft. Subject was also cited for theft and booked into the Medina County Jail.

09/26-Warrant Service – Officer on duty attempted to conduct a Warrant Service. The attempt was unsuccessful since the subject was not at the location specified.
09/26- Traffic Hazard – Officer on duty cleared out debris from the entrance ramp on IH35 Mile Marker in order to avoid possible traffic incidents from occurring.
09/27-Assist MCSO – Officer on duty responded to Friendly Glenn’s to assist MCSO with a Disturbance call received from dispatch.
09/29- Suspicious Circumstance – Officer on duty observed two suspicious subjects walking/biking around the Dollar General business area. The pair split up when they reached Highway 471 and headed Northbound. The Officer conducted a security check of the Dollar General trash dumpster and surrounding area but did not locate anyone or note anything suspicious in the area.
09/29-Assist MCSO – Officer on duty was dispatched to a call to assist MCSO. Upon arrival at the location the Officer on duty detained one male subject until Medina County Sheriff’s Officer arrived at the location to take custody of the subject.
09/30- Suspicious Person – Officer on duty observed a shirtless man walking from behind the new Valero gas station building being constructed. The Officer made contact with the onsite foreman who has lived at the work site for over a year. He confirmed the identity of the subject as one of his workers and verified all was fine at the site.
