Christmas was Caitlin Jaworowski’s favorite time of year. So what better way to honor her memory than to light up the town with beautiful lights and decorations in her honor. The late Caitlin Jaworowski fought a long battle with cancer before she gained her angel wings in November of 2022. Her husband Justin Jaworowski, and children Rainey (7) and Jack (2), look forward to hosting and judging this contest to help others battling this disease in honor of their sweet wife and mother.
“It brought her so much joy to see our children’s reactions to all of the lights and make memories in this joyous season,” said her husband Justin Jaworowski.

Longview Cemetery in Bigfoot to lay wreaths on Dec. 16

‘On Saturday December 16th at 8:00 AM , the Longview Cemetery Association of Bigfoot will hold a ceremony in which  we will place a Christmas wreath on each of our veterans’ graves.
As we place the wreath, we will repeat the veterans’ name in honor of their service to our country. We remember all that they have done and acontinue to do for America to keep us protected and so that we can continue to live safe and free.
This is in conjunction with Wreaths Across America.

Devine Silent Santa…Do you need assistance?

Silent Santa assists families in the Devine area that are in need of help with Christmas gifts for their children who are school age or younger. If your family is in need of assistance with a Christmas gift for your child(ren), please call or come by the Devine police Department during regular business hours to sign up. Please Sign up no later than Friday, December 15th, 2023. All gifts will be individually wrapped, addressed personally to your child and ready to be placed under your tree. You will be called to schedule a time to pick up your child’s gifts.
If you are not in need of a gift and would like to donate a new unwrapped toy to the program, drop off boxes can be found at the Devine Police Department, Devine City Office, Driscoll Library and Walmart.

Last Tuesday, the varsity Warhorse team capped off a terrific night had by ALL Devine high school basketball teams as they defeated visiting Hondo 79-54. The victory gave the Warhorses and Arabians a perfect 6-0 record as the freshmen, JV, and varsity teams each won their games previous to the nightcap.

8th Fillys take on Pearsall

The 8th grade Filly hoop teams continued their season a week ago in Pearsall against the Lady Doggies. The B-Team wound up in a 15-all tie while the A-Team won easily 36-7/

Devine took a 9-8 lead into the break before Pearsall got that one point back in the second half as the teams tied at 15. There are no overtimes in B-Team ball games.
