House, Dixon, Alvarez, Lowe, & Esparza set the pace for Warhorse XC

The Warhorse Cross Country team had a nice showing at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi Saturday as Devine placed 16th as a team out of 35 complete teams in attendance. Devine scored 468 points to finish behind #15 San Antonio Kennedy who had 433 and ahead of #17 Pearsall who tallied 475
Senior Jesse House had his best race of the season as he came in 40th in a field of 335 competitors. House ran his 5K in 19:14, almost two full seconds ahead of the 41st place runner.

Power hitter Miller gets another Game Ball

Senior Arabian volleyball player Brooklyn Miller garnered her second San Antonio Express-News Game Ball from sports writer David Hinojosa.
Miller earned the recognition after her 18 kills against District 29-4A foe Carrizo Springs put her over 1,000 for her terrific career that ain’t over just yet
The senior player earned her first game ball of 2023 after Devine went 8-0 with victories coming over Ingram, Hondo, and six additional in the Arabian Roundup back in mid-August.
Congratulations to Brooklyn and best of luck with the rest of yours and your teammates’ season!

Paxton acquitted on all impeachment counts
Ken Paxton has been reinstated as Texas Attorney General after the Texas Senate on Saturday acquitted him of charges of bribery and misuse of office. Only two Republican senators joined the 12 Democrats in voting to convict him of some of the 16 charges heard by the Senate, with four other charges dismissed by the Senate, The Dallas Morning News reported.

Does it feel like fall/autumn to you?

This week, I checked my calendar and as of today, 9-20-23, we are only three days away from the beginning of fall! The weather is a little bit cooler, and I can tell the days are already becoming a little shorter, and gosh, Christmas mania is beginning in the stores. As I mentioned last week, Hobby Lobby had lots and lots of Christmas décor displayed and it’s beginning to show up in other stores as well.
