Warhorse powerlifter Eric Hernandez Regional Champion, State qualifier

Eric Hernandez power-lifted his way to State by netting 1,400 pounds, outlifting his nearest competitor Josiah Lugo of Somerset by 70 pounds. Hernandez squatted 525lbs, benched 320lbs, and deadlift 55lbs to finish as the Region 5 Division II Regional Champion in the 165lb division.
Seth DeLeon completed his successful campaign placing seventh in the 148lb division. His 295lb bench, 405lb squat, and 405lb deadlift put his total at 1,105 pounds.
Jacob Delaney bombed out in the bench press after going up 70 pounds in the squat.
Zach Martinez unfortunately injured his ankle warming up for the meet and had to be scratched.
Hernandez next lifts in Abilene at Taylor County Expo Center on March 26 at the state meet. He goes in ranked third overall in state in the 165lb weight class.
