On September 24, 2020, Medina County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were alerted to suspicious mail being sent to the Jail. This mail sparked an investigation leading to an arrest/search warrant for a female subject
“The warrant, Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility, was issued after the female subject sent a drug laced postcard to her boyfriend who is currently incarcerated,” stated a press release by Medina County Sheriff’s Office.
“Deputies arrested the female subject at her place of employment in Hondo. During the arrest, she was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. The search warrant that was conducted at her residence in Hondo produced additional narcotics.”
The female subject was arrested and booked into the Medina County Jail for Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility $25,000 Surety bond, Possession with Intent to Deliver Controlled Substance PG 1 4G-200G $50,000 Surety bond and Possession Controlled Substance PG 1 <1G Drug Free Zone $35,000 Surety bond. The female subject was released on September 25th on bond.
Any other person(s) conspiring to have drug laced mail delivered to the Medina County Jail, will be facing Felony charges.
“It’s unbelievable the things people come up with,” said Sheriff Randy Brown. “They ingest drugs like this by eating the post card.”
