Medina County and Frio County both entered a Burn Ban as of this past Thursday, August 15. The Burn Ban remains in effect for 90 days, unless the counties choose to lift it sooner.
Local volunteer Fire departments have been run ragged responding to call after call due to the hot, dry conditions in our area. Just last week, over 30 volunteer firemen fought a huge 125 acre grassfire for nearly 6 hours in 104 degree weather.
