Arabian, Warhorse XC TEAM CHAMPS in Falls City; Carr wins individual championship; Alvarez runner-up

Jaden Alvarez took 2nd, Devo Dixon 4th and Jesse House 5th. The Wahorse CC Team won the Championship with 34 points.

The Devine Cross Country teams pulled off dual championships in Falls City last Saturday as the Arabians scored a season-low 32 points while the Warhorses scored a season-low as well with 34 points.

Natalia Football set for district opener in Comfort

The Natalia Mustangs (0-4) will open district play this coming Friday on the road in Kendall County vs. the Comfort Bobcats (2-3, 1-0). This will be the first time since 2002, Natalia and Comfort compete in Comfort and just the 2nd time since 02 they battle.

Lady Pirates 3rd at HOKA Meet in Round Rock

The Varsity Lytle Lady Pirates won third with a score of 181 at the HOKA meet in Round Rock last weekend.

The Lady Pirate Cross Country team rebounded quite nicely from their Islander Splash showing to take the third spot of 38 teams in the HOKA Invitational at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock this past Saturday morning. Lytle scored 181 points to finish behind nemesis Poth who scored 120 and Hamilton who posted 173.

Lytle JV XC makes believers at River City; Lady Pirates champs, Pirates 3rd

Devine’s 7th Grade Volleyball Maroon and Gold Teams Split the Wins Against Uvalde’s A and B-Teams

On Monday, September 25th, Devine’s 7th grade Volleyball A-Team added another win to their record beating Uvalde in two consecutive sets, 25-16, 25-20 making their district record 5-0; and season record 7-1.

Coach Amber Aguilar was really proud of how aggressively the Fillys played against Uvalde saying, “Uvalde definitely gave us a challenge, but my girls held their own because my team is good at handling pressure.” Aguilar also shared her feelings regarding their level of play and how her girls are really playing as a team. She stated, “These girls are going to do some great things in the near future and I can’t wait to see it!”

Devine Middle School’s 7th Volleyball B-Team lost to Uvalde in 3 sets, 14-25, 25-16, 10-15. Coach Amber Aguilar can’t say enough about how much her B-Team is improving with each game they play, stating, “This group of girls has so much desire to get better and that’s what I want for them. And they ARE getting better, and gaining some confidence. It’s important that their skills improve, but it’s also important to me that they have a positive experience. They are improving every day and I’m proud of their efforts.”
