With all Devine High School sports seasons and banquets now in the books, the hundreds of Arabian, Warhorse, Colt, and Filly student-athletes can look back on not only the successes of their respective teams but can also reflect on what the intrinsic value of competing in such sports is.
Whether as part of a team or individually, high school sports offer invaluable benefits that extend far beyond the playing field as both foster crucial life skills such as teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and leadership, which are essential for success in all aspects of life.

The Devine Athletic Booster Club does a tremendous job yearly in hosting awards banquets to honor Devine High School student-athletes who proudly represent their school, community, family, and themselves by participating in extracurricular activities.
Over 130 award certificates were handed out by the head coaches of various sports programs.

Kelsey Dishman, Lily Lawless, Gabby Morales, Kaylee Romano, and Brianna Schaefer played Legend’s Golf Course in Kingsland May 6-7 as they took on the best of the rest of Class 4A at the State Golf Tournament.
After winning the District 29-4A championship and finishing third at Regional, Devine placed 12th overall at State as they put their clubs away for the last time for the 2024 season.

Lytle clenches the Bi District Title

The Lytle Pirates celebrated after receiving the trophy for winning the Bi District Title beating the San Antonio West Cougars. They will face Hallettsville on Saturday.

With a playoff game on the line, Lytle rose to the challenge on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the South San Antonio West Cougars a 17-0 shutout. Considering Lytle has won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday’s blowout was nothing new.
