We have BBQ plate tickets for sale for January 19th!!! Pre-sale tickets are $13. Plates will be $15 at the door. Fundraiser will be held at Devine First UMC (212 W. Benton, Devine) from 1-4pm.
Please help us raise money for our United Methodist Youth to go to Camp Eagle this summer! The Camp Eagle Adventure Summer Camp program allows kids to break free from distraction, go on big adventures, build authentic relationships, and open their hearts to Biblical truth. It’s truly an awesome week filled with God’s love.

Boy Scout Troop 72 offers free membership to the next 20 youths who join in 2024. This offer is for boys aged 11-17.
Adult volunteer membership is half-priced at $30 for the remainder of the year.
All are welcome to stop in at the regular meetings, which are held every Tuesday from 7-8 p.m. at VFW Post 3966, Devine.

The Medina County Jr. Livestock Show will have a drawing where prizes include a 2025 Kawasaki Mule SX and cash prizes on Jan. 25, 2025.
The Kawasaki Mule has a value of $8,799.00. The second and third place prizes are gift cards worth $750 and $250.
Participants do not need to be present at the drawing to win.
Winner of the grand prize are responsible for additional fees. See local students who have tickets for sale.

Toy and Antique Quilt Show this month

The Shooting Star Museum will hold a toy and antique quilt show from 1 to 5 pm on December 28 and 29.

Devine Soccer Club was created to help in the development of future soccer players and to grow the love of the game in our community. “We are not a single season program. We will operate year round; this was a dream years ago. Finally, it was the right time to make it a reality. When the opportunity came up to partner with Major League Soccer (MLS), it was an easy decision. MLS has Next, MLS Next Pro which has been successful in developing players. Having the MLS GO recreational program within the Devine Soccer Club, we can ensure the coaches will be trained and informed how best to help the players. Not just form a technical standpoint but also from a tactical and mental one. The players that join our club will not only play soccer, they will learn it as well,” said Pablo Carmona.
They will offer clinics varying in length from 1 to 3 days. They will have camps, and all of this is to help develop the players. Some of these events will be free while others will have a cost. They look forward to bringing in players from San Antonio that are in the San Antonio Futbol Club Pro Academy. Also, from time to time, bring in retired pro players, former and current college players to help in the events they hold.

Christmas Lights Contest!!

PRESS RELEASE–It’s hard to believe that it has been 2 years since we lost our beloved Cailtin Jaworowski to Cancer.
This town rallied behind Caitlin and the family while she was going through treatments. When we lost her, they continued to support the family in so many loving ways. So, in lieu of flowers it was decided that the kids needed to have a decorated yard for Christmas and so this is how it all began.
In memory of Caitlin, Justin Jaworowski and the family wanted to help other families in similar situations. This year’s recipient is Cheyenne Alexis (Lexy) Martinez, daughter of Roland and Kayla (Sellers) Martinez, of Devine. Cheyenne was diagnosed on September 13, 2024, with Acute Lymphatic Leukemia. All proceeds collected from this fundraiser will go directly to Cheyenne, better known as Lexy!
Entry Forms & donations or just donations can be turned in at Country Gal’s Market located at 109 W Benton Ave, and The Devine News located at 216 S. Bright Street both located in Devine!
There’s something to be said about living in a small town. Small town yes, but full of people with big hearts. Thank you will never be enough!
ABOUT THE LIGHT CONTEST
The first place prize will be $500 gift card donated by Alamo Truck Accessories and the 2nd place prize will be $250 donated by Vail Photography.
To join the light contest, all you have to do is submit the entry form with any donation you want to make whether it’s $5 or $500.
Make sure your lights are on December 21 and 22nd when judging will occur. Who’s eligible? Homes and businesses in Devine, Natalia, Moore and surrounding areas. Please submit a photo of your lights with your entry if you live outside city limits.

“MARKDOWN MANIA” this Saturday Dec. 14 with late hours 6-9 pm

This shopping event of the year is being hosted in Devine again by small town locally owned businesses on Saturday, December 14. It is their way to say “Thank You” to customers for “Shopping at Home” and helping small businesses, while keeping shopping for Christmas gifts safe and close to home.
The businesses will be open 9 am to 9 pm Saturday with a Late Night event, opening late from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. to celebrate the Markdown Mania event with specials all day and super RED LIGHT SPECIALS sale prices and prizes from 6-9 pm that night!
Also known as a Sip and Shop style event, some will offer cookies, cider, hot chocolate, or other beverages as well as door prizes and special savings during this Shop at Home and Save opportunity!
Any businesses is invited to join in on by hosting their own markdowns, special offers, door prizes, or drawings and late hours this Saturday, December 17. The more the merrier!
As an added bonus six lucky people will win a $100 gift certificate during the event, one at Bushel and a Peck, one at Mag’s Place & Boutique, one at Country Gals Market, one at Lavish Vibes, one at Cynthia Calame, Massage Therapist, and one at Sherry’s Flowers by registering with a purchase at those locations the all day event!
