Denver-based company to develop 340-acre site dubbed I-35 Technology Park

Plans call for removing the property northeast of Lytle from the San Antonio Water Supply (SAWS) and receive water and sewer services from the city of Lytle instead. Developers promised to “invest heavily in the community with water and sewer infrastructure to make sure that the site is prepared and appropriate for this type of use,” Nelson said.

An agreement to join with a Denver-based real estate company in the development of a 340-acre site northeast of Lytle as the potential site for a future data center was unanimously approved by the city council Monday.
Plans call for Tract, a real estate development company specializing in finding locations for data centers, to apply for annexation of the site into the city’s extra-territorial jurisdiction within the next few weeks.
Mitch Nelson, director of entitlements for Tract, made a PowerPoint presentation to the council as the basis for the development agreement request.
“What we do is look at appropriate sites and go through an acquisition process that involves acquiring the (electrical) power, meaning we put down sufficient dollars to pay for the power,” he said.
That process also includes joining with nearby communities in early master planning – “seeing where we can fit in and then performing entitlements which is what we are doing here tonight,” Nelson said.
“Ultimately, if we close on the property, then we invest heavily in the community with water and sewer infrastructure to make sure that the site is prepared and appropriate for this type of use,” he said.

A beautiful Homecoming Hug…

The Devine News Made You Smile….This beautiful couple is celebrating their anniversary this month, and their story made us smile so we wanted to share it with you all.
After a 295 day deployment in the Middle East, Sgt. Brandon Hunt of Lytle made a surprise homecoming this October. As soon as he walked in the school where his wife Alexis works and said her name, she jumped into his arms for this long-awaited hug.

Sgt. Hunt explained how he and friends in the community pulled off the big surprise. When Sgt. Hunt arrived in SA on October 28th, Mayor Ruben Gonzalez picked up Sgt. Hunt from the base and coordinated trips to each of the schools so the soldier could walk in and surprise his wife and both kids.
Mrs. Hunt is a school secretary in Lytle so he surprised her where she works, as well as his daughter Avery at the elementary and son Jaxon at the high school.
“She didn’t have a clue I would be home so soon,” Sgt. Hunt said. “ She was super surprised when I walked in and said her name. She jumped up really quick and into my arms after the shock.”
The Devine News would like to say thank you to Sgt. Hunt and his family, and all of the men and women serving our great country who have made so many great sacrifices to make the USA such a wonderful place to live.

It’s on the way, Christmas, that is

As usual, it’s been a busy week, and this coming week is going to be busier, between getting my house ready for company, I also have to do a couple of things that will take me away from the house, on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday! Also, we’re doing work shop getting some things ready for our bake sale, that will be on the 12th. Last week I gave you directions for cinnamon ornaments and sugar cookies. I have used the sugar cookie recipe for more years than I can remember, it is simple and does not have to be refrigerated overnight, and that makes it number one for me! The “cookie paint’ makes decorating super simple and my children, grandchildren, and the older great-grandchildren all love decorating cookies and using it.
Today’s recipe is very simple as you use cooking oil rather than shortening or butter and just put the dough on the baking sheet, no rolling nor cutting!
This week, I’m going to give you a recipe for mini-muffins. This is easy to make for a bake sale, as you get twice the muffins that you get from a regular recipe!
Here’s a bit of Christmas trivia for you. It appeared several years ago during Christmas week in the Victoria Advocate. They stated that is from Old Icelandic tales that give the following as the names of Santa’s elves: Askasleikir, Bjugnakraekir, Faldafeykir, Stekjarstaur, Gattathefur, Giljagaur, Gluggagaegir, Ketkrokur, Og Ketasnikir, Pottaslekir, Skyjarmur, Stufur and last but not least, Thvorusleikir! (This is the source that was listed at the end of the article: Source didyouknow.cd).

Meet Adian, 13

Adian is a delightful 13-year-old who is seeking to be adopted by parents who can provide him daily love and care.
Adian loves to play with sensory toys, especially toys that make music and sounds. His favorite fidget toy is a large wooden beaded necklace as he enjoys the sounds of the beads. Adian has a limited vocabulary, but he is always learning.
Adian loves to eat fruit and vegetables and likes trying new foods at different restaurants. He is very active, likes being outdoors, and loves to explore nature. A walk in the park or walk in the mall is his favorite.
His favorite snacks to eat are Dairy Queen French fries, apples, and chocolate milk. Adian loves animals, but his favorite animal to pet is dogs. He likes road trips and does well when traveling.  Adian loves to ride the bus to school and enjoys being in a classroom.
Adian will make a great addition to a loving and forever family with a two-parent home, which is active and patient with him.  He would do well with a family that has older children or as an only child in the home, to get the one-on-one attention that he works well with.
If you think you could be a forever family for Adian, or another Texas child, please call 1-800-233-3405 for more information or visit www.adoptchildren.org where you can find a schedule of online public information meetings, and learn about the foster/adoption program.
