06/06/24- Threats – Officer on duty was waved down by a individual who wanted to report a online IG threat made against her minor son. The complainant provided the Officer with all the information and documentation and a report was filed.
Community Movie Night at Devine First UMC June 20
Devine First UMC will be hosting a Community Movie Night on June 20, 2024 at 7pm! We will gather in the Fellowship Hall to watch “Moana” and the church will provide the popcorn and candy! 12:07 AM – IH 35 Frontage Rd @ FM 2790 E. – Officers initiated a traffic stop for a defective LP light, which resulted in the arrest of a 53 year old male for an active warrant for Probation Revocation / Assault Bodily Injury out of San Patricio County. Subject was booked into the Atascosa County Jail.
9:21 AM – 17900 Blk. Wisdom Rd. – Officer spoke to a resident regarding someone watching him.

Project Breeze is underway again this year. Devine Lions Club donated 10 fans this week to the project at the Devine Police Department. If you are need of a box fan go by the police department. If you donate fan(s) drop them off at the police department. Lions Bill Herring and Lewis Stroud dropped off some Lasco fans to Chief of Police Kandi Benavidez and Lt. Chris Andrews.

Venancio “Benny” Ferdin a beloved son, husband, father, and grandfather from Devine, Texas peacefully passed away on June 7, 2024. He was born on March 17, 1962, in San Antonio, Texas to his parents Maria Elena Savala and the late Venancio Ferdin Sr.

On June 4, 2024 Leslie Crouch fell asleep in death. He was born on April 15, 1948.
