Lytle Police Report

Monday, July 08
12:10 AM – Main St. @ McDonald St. – Officer initiated a traffic stop for an expired motor vehicle registration, which resulted in the arrest of a 17 year old female for Violating a Protective Order. Subject was booked into the Atascosa County Jail.
4:09 AM – 15100 Blk. Main St. – Officers responded and transported an individual to Laurel Ridge Treatment Center for an Emergency Detention.
8:02 AM – Lytle PD – Officer received a call from a female in New Mexico wanting to check on a male juvenile. The caller provided no information about the juvenile except he lived in the Lytle area. Officer was unable to locate the juvenile.
10:00 AM – 15000 Blk. Harbour St. – Officer responded to speak to an elderly female.

Devine Police Report

July 5
14:32PM – Complainant on Howell Ave called in reference to report that a male in yellow vest was soliciting Spectrum. Unable to locate.
16:00PM – Officer dispatched to Tuttle Dr for two vehicle minor accident. Parties stated they both backed up at the same time causing collision.
19:35PM – Report of black smoke behind building on Hondo Ave. All okay, it was a BBQ pit.
21:14PM – Report of 5 to 6 juveniles seen carrying paint ball guns in area of Sollock Dr. Unable to locate.

Kennith is survived by his wife of 65 years, Willie Mae Mullins; son and daughter-in-law, Wade and Shawn Mullins; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Carl Wentreck; and son, Vincent Mullins; grandchildren, Wesley (Brenda) Mullins, Ryan (Dakota) Mullins, Julia (Matt) Hoog, Jacque (Paul) Mallon, Lindy (Tyler) Bradford, Wilson (Kayla) Marsh; great-grandchildren, Darian, Aaralynn, Teagan, Wade, Bradie, Porter, Lane, Kade, Wyatt, Summer, Harper, Hudson, Walker, Liam, Olivia, and Haddon.

Henrietta M. Campos

June 16, 1933 – July 7, 2024

Henrietta M. Campos was born June 16, 1933 and passed from this life July 7, 2024. She is survived by her daughter, Martha; grandsons Guadalupe, Little Leo, Leon, Abelardo Jr. Granddaughters Terry Ann and Alice Ann; great grandsons Logan, Little Abelardo (Auby), Raiden and great granddaughters Novely, and Tawny, as well as long time friend and caregiver George Martinez.
Henrietta was preceded by her husband Andres Campos, son Leo Campos, son-in –law Abelardo, brothers and sisters.
A memorial mass will be held Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 7:30 pm at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Natalia.

Evelyn Loggins

Evelyn Loggins, born December 22, 1939, has passed away at the age of 84.
Evelyn was Grandma or Nana to everyone in Lytle. She always had an open door, and no one ever went hungry when they were with Evelyn. She loved parties with the family, especially around the fire.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Adolph Opella and Sylvia Kopecki, husband; Jesse Loggins, and daughter; Debbie Loggins Paulson.

Marshall Molton Seay

Marshall Molton Seay entered eternal rest at the age of 74 on July 4, 2024. He was born on September 20, 1949, to his parents Henry Allen Seay Sr. and Juanita Marie Sanders in San Antonio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Elizabeth “Besty” Mentry, and sisters-in-law Faye and Debbie Seay.
He is survived by his wife of twenty years, Wanda; sons Fred (Crystal) of Yuma, AZ, Geoffrey (Destiny) of Devine, Andy Kinsey (David) of San Antonio. Brothers Henry Allen Jr of La Coste, Paul (Denise) of La Coste, and Charlie of Denver; Granddaughter Elizabeth “Lizzy” Marie and Grandson Marshall Allen of Devine; Step-grandchildren Shelby, Joy, and Tyler, of Yuma, AZ; and niece and nephews.

Medina County Water alliance group:

“This alliance is not to take control of your water rights….
This alliance is to make the most use of everybody’s water rights.”

Medina County has joined the Medina County Water Alliance group and the City of Devine was set to discuss joining at a special meeting on press night. The alliance was started by local leaders at East Medina and Yancey Water in an effort to protect water security in Medina County which is growing by leaps and bounds with incoming subdivisions.

An appeal to the La Coste City Council to reconsider its recent decision not to participate in an alliance to better manage regional water resources is slated for the council’s July 16 regular session.
Scooter Mangold, general manager of the Yancey Water Supply Corporation, reported on continuing efforts to bring La Coste on board during a July 2 meeting of the entities participating in the Medina County Regional Water Alliance
“As far as sign up I believe everybody is agreed with the exception of La Coste and I think it’s on their agenda for July 16,” Mangold said.

Two found deceased in Hondo Tragedy

PRESS RELEASE
HONDO PD–On Saturday, July 6th, 2024 at approximately 1:51 PM, Hondo Police Officers were dispatched to 1301 Ave A Hondo, TX for a possible disturbance with a weapon.
Hondo Officers arrived on scene and observed a male and female laying on the ground in front of the drive way, with apparent gunshot wounds.
Officers secured the scene and attempted life saving measures on both the male and female. The female was identified as Dolores Rivera, age 53, of Hondo.
