According to police reports, a verbal argument between family members in the living room escalated when a woman threw a pair of scissors at the victim, striking him in the neck and causing visible bleeding. The victim was treated by EMS personnel at the scene and declined further transportation to a hospital. Officers documented and photographed the victim’s injury. Officers subsequently took the female suspect into custody on the premises. October 17, 2026 – At approximately 10:30 p.m., patrolling officers were flagged down by a passing truck driver who reported that a vehicle had driven into a ditch near the train tracks. Responding officers arrived at the scene, where a witness had remained to assist law enforcement. According to police reports, the driver of a Toyota RAV4 was traveling between 50 and 60 mph toward Poteet when she lost control near a curve and railroad crossing. The driver told officers her vehicle hit a bump and struck a concrete barrier before sliding into the ditch. The driver sustained visible leg injuries, including scrapes and bleeding, but declined emergency medical services at the scene. Due to its position causing a potential hazard near the tracks, the vehicle was towed. Because the crash occurred in close proximity to the rail line, officers the Railroad Department to inspect the area. A representative subsequently evaluated the location and confirmed that minor scratches on the tracks caused no structural danger and would not impact train safety or operations. The driver was released at the scene after securing private transportation from a friend.
October 17 – At approximately 11:30 p.m., responding officers were dispatched after a parked truck driver reported hearing a loud impact while sleeping inside his vehicle. During the maneuver, the Peterbilt collided with a parked 2026 Freightliner semi-truck. The driver of the reversing truck admitted responsibility for the incident at the scene. The impact resulted in damage to the front passenger-side bumper and mirror of the parked Freightliner. Investigating officers noted paint transfer on the Peterbilt’s passenger-side running board consistent with the Freightliner’s exterior paint color. Officers photographed the damage on both commercial vehicles, and the drivers were instructed to exchange insurance information. No injuries were reported.

Upon contacting the truck driver, officers learned that the dispute reportedly began over a communication misunderstanding with a new employee. The driver stated that the manager intervened to ask for patience, which escalated into a brief verbal exchange. After evaluating the situation and speaking with both parties, officers advised the driver that he was required to leave the premises at management’s request. He was formally warned that returning to the property could result in a criminal trespass citation and potential arrest. The driver acknowledged the warning and left the area without further incident. Store staff were advised to contact law enforcement immediately should the individual return.
