Wesley Earl Neuman

Wesley Earl Neuman, of Hondo, went to Heaven to be with his beautiful wife, Loraine, on November 24, 2017. He passed away in San Antonio at the age of 79 years.
Wesley was born September 6, 1938 in Hondo, one of four sons of Joseph Fritz Neuman and Lucille Rose Schneider Neuman. Wesley was a member of the D’Hanis High School class of 1958. Right after his high school graduation, he went to work for Medina Electric Co-op, and continued working there until he retired, forty-two years later. During this time, he also served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Quihi Gun Club and was a Hondo Volunteer Firefighter.
On February 4, 1961 he married his sweetheart, Loraine Josephine Haby in a ceremony at St. Louis Catholic Church. Their marriage was blessed with fifty-two years of marriage and three children. Loraine passed away on March 25, 2013.
In addition to his parents and wife, Wesley was also preceded in death recently by his son, Michael Ray Neuman on April 11, 2017. His brother, Jerry Neuman and brother and sister-in-law, Jimmie and Barbara Neuman also preceded him in death.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Lynda Neuman of Hondo; daughter, Janet Mathis of Hondo; son-in-law, Dwayne Mathis of Mico; grandchildren, Tyler and Kara Neuman of Plano, Alexus Neuman of Castroville, Devin Mathis of Mico, Savannah Neuman of Hondo and Emily Neuman of Hondo; brother and sister-in-law, Charles J. and Connie Neuman of Hondo; brother-in-law, Fritz Heiligman of Hondo; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be Friday, December 1, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. The Holy Rosary will be recited Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 10:30 am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by the Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Wesley’s memory to the charity of your choice.
