Warhorse golfers ready to swing at State

The Warhorse golf team consisting of Carson Tilley, Hunter Murphy, Noah Tumbarello, Beau Cardenas, and Brice Champion represent the last five competitors from Devine ISD that will be participating in an athletic event at the conclusion of the 2017 school year. The Warhorses finished as Runner-Up at the Regional Meet on April 24th and 25th in Corpus Christi. The long wait is almost over.
Apple Rock Golf Course at Horseshoe Bay in Marble Falls is a beautiful place, one of the best in Texas. The Warhorses were able to get a feel for the links by playing their practice round at Apple Rock on Monday. The players diligently made mental notes of how to approach their round coming up on May 22nd and 23rd.
The following information is directly from Apple Rock’s website: “Horseshoe Bay Resort’s championship course, Apple Rock, was completed in 1986 and received distinction as ‘Best New Resort Course” by Golf Digest. Widely known as one of the most scenic courses in the state, this spectacular course spans 147 acres of the rolling Texas Hill Country along the shores of Lake LBJ. Apple Rock is situated in high, rocky terrain, offering stunning views of the lake and the Tif-Eagle. Bermuda elevated greens are surrounded by 56 sand traps. Offering a dramatic elevation change are back-to-back par 5 holes No. 10 and No. 11 taking golfers from one of the highest points at Cap Rock down to the shores of Lake LBJ in just a few strokes.”
