The Devine Warhorse golf team traveled to Boerne Monday morning to play in the Fair Oaks Tournament. The team shot a total of 351 but was unable to place in the top three in the traditionally tough tournament and challenging course.

Fresh off of the hardwood and onto the golf course for three of the Devine golfers this past week as two teams took the field to participate in the Warhorse Invitational held at the Devine golf course. Devine’s #1 team captured the tournament title by shooting a total score of 361, 15 strokes ahead of 2nd place Pleasanton.
Tumbarello received the 1st place medalist for his round of 87, just ahead of Blake Foster of Pleasanton who shot an 89 and Somerset’s JP Gonzales who finished with a 90.
Beau Cardenas and Murphy finished up a successful basketball season Tuesday night, stepped onto the course Friday, and both shot a respectable 91. Champion shot a 92 while Flues finished his day with an even 100.
Devine #2 team consisted of Payton Anderson, Hunter Dougherty, Travis Simons, and Ricky Gollrad.
“It was good to get all of the guys competing on the same day. Our team 1 score was decent but with a more practice time, strokes will be falling off of that rather quickly,” stated pizza pick-up guy and assistant Coach Jerel Beaty. “Really good scores will become the norm as they ultimately compete for a district and regional championship.”
Junior Carson Tilley competed at a tournament at Concan, Tx. Brutal winds and fast greens for all golfers had Tilley finishing his day with an 87.
