A trip to Buckhorn Golf Course in Comfort on March 6th turned into the Devine Warhorse’s second team championship of the golf season. The team shot a 320 to receive first place medals. Carson Tilley’s one over par (72) earned him an additional medal as the overall individual champion.
Beau Cardenas was one 3-put final hole away from breaking into the 70’s, but finished with an impressive 80 for the day. Hunter Murphy (83), Brice Champion (85), and Noah Tumbarello (87) rounded out the rest of the scores.
“It was exciting for me to get my first individual championship but even better to see how we did as a team,” stated junior Carson Tilley. “I think if we keep putting in the time that we will have a chance to do something really special this year.”
The Warhorses are off during Spring Break but return to the links on March 24-25 in a two-day tournament hosted by Fredericksburg on Friday and Kerrville on Saturday.
